Job Description: Sabourin Kimble & Associates Ltd. has an immediate opening for an entry level Indigenous Relations Coordinator with 1 to 2 years’ experience or relevant course curriculum. Our Indigenous Relations team helps clients plan and execute effective consultation and engagement with First Nations and Indigenous communities. We help to develop approaches that support successful and efficient projects that invest in long-term and meaningful partnerships and relationships with Indigenous Peoples. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of projects for the public and private sector and will support building and maintaining long-term relationships with First Nations and Indigenous communities.
Responsibilities: Working collaboratively with our team to support clients by planning, preparing and facilitating engagement and consultation activities with First Nations and Indigenous communities. Providing input into consultation and engagement activities and long-term relationship building. Tracking consultation activities and managing action items. Identifying and monitoring needs of clients and First Nation communities. Identifying opportunities for partnerships and other reconciliatory actions. Coordinating and preparing materials for meetings, site visits, and community-based events.
Qualifications: An undergraduate degree or college diploma in environmental science, archeology, planning, Indigenous studies or another relevant field. A basic knowledge of Indigenous Peoples and best practices in Indigenous Relations. General experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Canva and Microsoft Teams. Technical experience or knowledge in environmental science, planning, or archeology would be an asset. The successful candidate must also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
